Shake up your own mandarin orange cocktail this Chinese New Year, with a recipe specially created by Ding Dong’s executive bartender Kamil Foltan for Men’s Health’s readers.
The cocktail is also on the menu at Ding Dong until 5 March 2015 ($18++), aptly named Young In The Sun.
50 ml Shōchū
25 ml Fresh orange juice
15 ml Yuzu juice
15 ml Fresh lemon juice
15 ml Sugar syrup
Mandarin orange peel
1) Pour all ingredients into tall glass over ice and gently stir.
2) Garnish with fresh mandarin peel.
Shōchū, to sum it up, is low alcohol spirit with floral notes. Yuzu on the other hand, is a citrus fruit with mandarin notes. When both are combined with fresh orange juice, you’ll get a perky mandarin orange citrus flavour.
