Kristy Curtis and Dave Nuku, the trainers of Asia’s regional weight loss unscripted show, The Biggest Loser Asia, serve up 13 quick tips on how to lose weight in a big way.
Muscles can’t simply turn into fat if you stop working out. The lesser of one just means more of the other.
The appropriate serving size of carbs (brown rice, bread, potatoes) should be about the size of your fist.
To lose weight, you have to eat fewer calories than you are currently eating, then burn those calories through physical activity.
Strength training or resistance training will increase your metabolism and strengthen your bones.
Eat your veggies. They will save you calories and provide nutrition.
Get up and dance when you hear your favorite song. It’s stress busting and it will make you feel good.
Size matters! Say no to portions bigger than your fist.
The more water you drink, the higher your metabolic rate will be. So drink up!
Eat before going grocery shopping. You’ll be less tempted that way.
A good night’s sleep helps to keep your weight down. So sleep well.
There’s a higher chance that you’re overeating when you eat too fast. The brain takes about 20 minutes to start telling you that you’re full.
Emotional eating will cause you to eat unnecessarily… especially junk food.
Refrain from eating when you’re bored. Try other activities, like swimming, or simply take a walk in the park.
