THEY SAY: “Try the shoe with the energy boost. The Premier ZigFly combines our top performance running shoe with patented ZigTech sole technology. The unique zigzag-shaped sole helps propel you forward, while reducing wear and tear on your shins. Run harder, run longer.” – Reebok USA
WE SAY: With the unique, zigzag construction of its sole, this shoe is definitely an acquired taste.
Fit/Comfort: 4/10 — It’s a comfortable shoe for cross training, but probably not for the hardcore marathoner. It took us a few runs to get used to the feeling of running in the Zigfly. But, it served us well for several 15km runs.
Cushioning: 8/10 — During our test runs, we felt the shoe effectively absorbed most of the impact of each foot strike. However, because the foam on the outsole is rather exposed, it could be more prone to wear and tear compared to regular trainers.
Stability: 6/10 — Though the zigzag construction of the sole – comprising foam with holes that absorb impact – gives each step an added bounce, the shoe still offers above average stability.
Design/Aesthetics: 7.5/10 — Besides giving each step an added bounce, the zigzag construction of the sole also helps the shoe stand out from the crowd.
