THEY SAY: "A force to be reckoned with, the Adidas Titan running shoe employs BOUNCE™ for ultimate energy return, HyperMOTION for a faster and more efficient ride, and an adiWEAR® outsole for high-wear durability, making this a high-tech, lightweight running shoe so mighty you’ll wonder who’s doing all the work."
WE SAY: The Adidas Titan running shoe performs well with the various technologies delivering what they promise. The BOUNCE cushioning technology, which replaces traditional foam with bouncy, stretchy elements (no, they have not revealed exactly what these are made of), provides adequate cushioning against heel striking. There was no observable discomfort even after running for about 45 minutes or so.
The HyperMOTION technology consists of springs called ‘leaf springs’ in the heel which may look slightly bizarre at first, but when it comes to the transference of energy with each step, the springs get the job done. It feels well balanced and this makes each step forward almost effortless. Overall, the experience of running in the shoes was satisfying and it performs well Adidas claimed the shoes could do.
Fit/Comfort: 8/10 — The shoes fit snugly and don’t chafe the sides of your feet.
Cushioning: 9/10 — Impact on the balls and heels of the feet is greatly reduced and there
Stability: 7/10 — The shoe’s elevated sole (due to BOUNCE and HyperMOTION technologies) takes a little getting used to. This is especially if you are not used to running in such ‘tall’ shoes.
Design/Aesthetics: 8/10 — You cannot go wrong with solid, basic black, highlighted with bright, traffic-stopping red.
