Good news for daily commuters: You don’t have to fumble through your bags for your ez-Link cards anymore.
In light of the new era of payment wearables, EZ-Link recently announced the launch of EZ-Link Wearables, a new product line featuring smart, stylish wearables offering ez-link payment functions and a new array of lifestyle options.
One of the few smartwatches that incorporates this new function is the Garmin vivosmart HR with EZ-Link, which offers steps, sleep and fitness activity tracking. It also has a heart-rate monitor for fitness enthusiasts.
With the ez-link CEPAS chip embedded in the vivosmart HR, you can now enjoy contactless payments on public transit and at more than 30,000 ez-link acceptance points island-wide.
Focusing on fitness for a start, EZ-Link wishes to give both hardcore fitness enthusiasts and casual active lifestyle seekers “options in realising their fitness goals and enjoying their daily commutes with just one stylish device,” says Nicholas Lee, CEO of EZ-Link Pte Ltd.
This is the first time in Singapore that a wearable can be used to pay for ez-link transactions for train and bus rides, and it will undoubtedly pave the way for the new generation of contactless payments.
The Garmin vívosmart HR with EZ-Link will be available at major retailers in Singapore from end March 2017 at S$259.
