    Timing of having your meals, practically you have to change your daily routine so that you can maximise your energy through out the day. The toughest would be not having anything to drink during the day especially when you are coaching under the hot sun.

    I don’t really have any particular diet. I always believe to eat well, meaning to avoid fast food or processed food.

    During the fasting month, mainly my pre-dawn meal is important. The moment I break my fast, I will continue to drink warm water before I sleep. I’ll wake up at 3.30 am for my workout. After working out, I will eat some rice or pasta and finish it off with a blended dates with milk with some protein in it.

    On alternate days, I will wake up at 3.30 am for my workout, usually consist of a full body workout like pull-ups, bench presses, shoulder thrusts, bicep curls and some kettlebell exercises, and usually end with either rowing or stationary bicycle. On top of that, I will try to do 400 push-ups and 200 sit-ups every day just to keep in shape. Usually, I do it once I wake up and another time before I sleep.

    Fasting month is just like any other days; you just have to plan your day right and you will manage to have your energy throughout the day. It’s not easy to stay motivated but for me exercising has become a lifestyle.

    I plan my day accordingly and work out when I’m the strongest during that period. For me, I like to work out before I have my pre-dawn meal. But I guess different people will have different opinions on this.

    Plan your day ahead. Try not to rush things and drink a lot of warm water after your breakfast, but don’t just gulp it down at one go. Take your time. And if your are working out during the day, try not to exert yourself too much as it will not help in any way. The key is to maintain your strength and muscle mass.
