Novak Djokovic seems to be on the mend in the wake of his mysterious medical issue.
The tennis superstar posted an Instagram video on Sunday of a rehab exercise he’s using to come back from injury. “Each day getting stronger and a step closer to holding a racket in my hands,” he wrote. “Can’t wait for it.”
Djokovic recently posted a message on Instagram explaining he had undergone a “medical intervention” on his elbow. While the exact nature of his injury has yet to be confirmed, the rumor is that he underwent some sort of surgery.
While he may be restricting details about what he had done to his arm, he’s been keeping fans up-to-date on his rehab progress. His most recent post features him holding a high plank on a Swiss ball while doing alternating leg lifts. Talk about a core shredder.
Here’s another of Djokovic’s rehab exercises — this one featuring a resistance band:
Djokovic played in the Australian Open this past January — his first appearance since taking six months off to deal with injury. He lost in the fourth round to Hyeon Chung, appearing to have hurt his elbow during the competition.
Dealing with injury is never fun, but at least Djokovic seems to be staying optimistic about a comeback.
“I am super positive and excited to follow my recovery through so I can come back to the place I love the most. The court,” he wrote in the Instagram post about his medical intervention. “I’ll keep you posted and thanks for cheering me on!”
