Welcome to Hypefit, where the Men’s Health Singapore team check out the latest fitness gear that packs as much hype as function- and this time round we’re checking out Supreme’s SS18 Advanced Elements Kayak! And for us fitness buffs, it’s the perfect hype fit accessory to get: kayaking builds muscle and is at least 20 times more fun than bicep curls!
Some background- one of the most highly anticipated accessories of the Spring/Summer 2018 season, Supreme kept everyone waiting by dropping this Advanced Elements Packlite Kayak during week 20. This inflatable and packable kayak measures just under 8 feet when inflated and comes with a custom Supreme-branded oar. The Kayak packs all the way down to a slim 11x11x5 inches, and weighs just four pounds making it great for taking anywhere. This kayak retailed for $498 and released on July 5th, 2018.
The Project Rock Underarmour JBL Headphones: We Unbox, We Review
And of course, if you’re gonna be living the hypefit life on a Kayak, you should certainly be doing it somewhere similarly hype.. so we took the kayak for it’s first voyage at the Ritz-Carlton Koh Samui, which boasts really, really cinematic ocean views.
Last but not least, some kayaking advice from our editor below:
- Connect with the boat with as many parts of your body as possible: feet, bum, hips, knees and thighs. Maintaining a gentle forward lean will help you stay in position. So you’re in control – not the current.
- Focus on the place you want to get to when you paddle. Pick something in the distance (ideally not an oil tanker) and keep your eyes on it. You’ll hold a steady course – and save energy – without even trying.
- Protruding obstacles change the flow of the river, so when you notice them, prepare to pick up speed and use the paddles to guide you out of trouble zones. That goes for hot chicks as much as submerged rocks.
