🏋️♂️Wellness Wednesdays🏃♂️ . Thought of the day: You’ve only got one life; live it well. . Having just started my practice training at the start of this year, I’ve been doing a fair bit of thinking about how I‘m going to incorporate my passion for fitness with my long working hours. Being a trainee Lawyer often means that I’m unable to control what time I end, which is why I’ve taken to waking up at 5.30 in the mornings to hit the gym before work. . I do it because I think it’s important to be “good” to your body; that fitness, health and a balanced lifestyle all go hand in hand. I have to admit that it’s not always possible (especially when you leave work at 2am the night before), and it’s definitely not easy, but with the right support system (a #swolemate with similar goals @nattylifts, snacks and supplements @myproteinsg and awesome apparel @biaathletics) and the right motivation, it’s very possible. . The reason I’m sharing my experiences (which, admittedly, are still at an infant stage) is because I think fitness ought to a priority for everyone, and I hope to encourage y’all to make time for it. . ‼️ I GOT INJURED ‼️ – 💡 Read on to find out the 2 biggest takeaways from today’s post. It’s going to take about 3mins, but I hope you find this valuable. – 1️⃣ Personally I don’t find this transformation impressive because of the physical changes between the two photos. – Instead here’s a story to get you up to speed. – 😫 As some of you might know, I actually COMPLETELY STOPPED training for about a month. On 16th December 2017, I actually hurt my lower back badly over an accident in the gym. – 😵 Walking was excruciatingly painful, I could barely stand or sit, or even sleep without much pain radiating through my lower back and legs. – 😪 Not only did I feel terrible physically, but also emotionally. I was listless and just anxious to recover so I could roll out new content for you guys. – 🤔 Eventually, I realised that instead of beating myself over this situation, I made the most out of it and focused on things that I could actually change. – 💪🏻 It was at this point that I decided to start what I’ve been meaning to for the longest time, to offer Online Coaching to help those who wanted to kickstart their New Year Resolutions; those who wanted to lose that belly fat and get from fat to fit, and even those who wanted to pack on muscles on their skinny frame. – 🙏🏻 If I can’t help myself more than I can now, why not start to help others? – 💡 Accept the things you cannot change, have the courage to change those you can, and have the wisdom to know the difference. – 💭 Between the two photos is a period of about 3 months, where I had to really take things slow: 👉🏻 I focused on perfecting my form 👉🏻 Started with lighter weights 👉🏻 Stretch and strengthen For example I used to bench with 40kg dumbbells, but because of the injury and being out from the gym, even 15s felt heavy. – 👍🏻 End of the day, I knew that it wasn’t a race and this is a competition between myself. – 2️⃣ Now the next takeaway is this: – …continued in the comments… #mhfitspiration

So it has been almost 2 mth. Left: 83kg on 08.12.17 Right: 73kg on 04.02.18 It took me alot of will power, alot of habit breaking, alot of sweat to come thus far. If you ask me, have i ever thought of throwing in the towel, i would say everyday. Have i ever thought about just having a rest day after a rest day, everyday. Have i ever thought of eating carbs, certainly some day. Have i ever given excuse to myself of not having the time to do it? (FnB industry, MBA dissertation, catching up with crypto news, spending time with 2 of my love ones, self development) Every second, every minute, every moment. Prioritizing and time management was a fundamental i grasp through this journey. Finding and making time for what is important in your priority list is important for success. Ive come to a conclusion that your strongest moment can only be strengthen at your weakest.
