Chris Hemsworth is proving you don’t get a body like Thor by skipping out on your workouts.
The 34-year-old actor is currently in his native Australia, and after enduring a strenuous sweat-inducing workout under the scorching hot sun, he lived to talk about it with his 14.3 million followers.
“’They said no human could train in this heat!” Hemsworth said, while panting heavily in a now-deleted video on his Instagram story. “But I’m not a human, I’m a lizard. An Australian lizard! I live for this sh-t!” he added, throwing a peace sign up to sky.
Hemsworth was reportedly in the Byron Bay area, which typically sees weather temperatures of 22 to 27 degrees Celsius in March. But according to accuweather.com, the New South Wales region had a particularly hot day Wednesday with temperatures reaching upwards of about 32 degrees Celsius.
In January, the actor who plays the hammer-wielding superhero, told Inquirer.net that a fourth Thor movie was definitely in the works, because he and Ragnarok director Taika Waititi discussed plans for the film on New Year’s Eve.
“We gave cheers to ‘Thor 3’. But it also was like, ‘What could we do with four?’” he said. “’We could do this and this.’ We were throwing ideas around.” Perhaps Hemsworth is just keeping his body in shape for the upcoming role?
In 2017, Hemsworth shared with Men’s Health some of the specific workout he does to look like Thor. “I add in a lot of other sorts of movement, flexibility and functional training,” he said. “Bulk is nice, but being more agile is definitely important. I’ll do a ton of boxing or Muay Thai workouts. I surf a ton and I do a lot of yoga, too.”
