Dabbing French fries with tissue paper does help in soaking up some oil, but the amount of oil removed is relatively low say you remove 1 gram (gm) of fat, you only save yourself about 9 calories from the dabbing. In comparison, one medium size serving of French fries contains an average of 16 gm of fat, which provides 320 Kcal of energy. This is equivalent to about 1/5 ofthe total energy requirement a day. Therefore it is recommended to reduce the amount of fries you eat on a whole.
My girlfriend dabs her French fries with a piece of tissue to soak up the oil. How much good does that really do?
