Why wear it?
While the square-faced watch is not new to the world of fashion, “it’s always thought of as an unconventional accessory,” says stylist Sheh Alkaddri. “It’s something different and can make an otherwise ordinary outfit look interesting.”
How do I wear it?
“There are almost no restrictions to wearing the square-faced watch,” Sheh says. So whether you’re sporting jeans and a T-shirt, slim bermuda shorts and a polo shirt, or your favourite pair of pants with a work shirt, this watch can complement your look easily.
What should I avoid?
Shirts with tight cuffs. “If you’re wearing a cuffed shirt, ensure that the cuff on your hand is adjusted or loosened to accommodate your watch,” says Sheh. Or if you’re wearing it with casuals, just roll up your sleeves to show off the watch.
Where can I buy it?
Designer-label brands like Emporio Armani and Hugo Boss feature square-faced watches in their collections. We like this Eco-Drive Twin Date E310 from Citizen ($915, www.citizen.com.sg).
