The Feel-Good Wardrobe

advertisement

Wear the right clothes to boost your mood. Here’s how to pick the right style from your wardrobe so you can make you feel good.

Keep It Cool
Stick with natural fibres in hot weather. Cotton remains an all-time favourite and it never goes out of style. For increased ventilation, a shirt made of stylistically punctured fabric does the trick.

Wear It Short
When your arms are exposed, perspiration evaporates readily and you stay comfortable. That’s also one way to wearing layers in this heat. A tee with an artistic print sits nicely over a short-sleeved shirt or a polo – without leaving you hot under the collar.

Lighten Up
Colour psychologists believe you can tap into the emotional effects of colour to gain a psychological advantage in everyday life – in particular for work and relationships. Don light colours to look approachable, friendly and trustworthy.

The Right Cut
Whatever your body shape, the cut of your clothes is meant to flatter it. Pump up your confidence by playing up your best features: If you have wide shoulders and slim legs, wear a shirt to highlight your upper body and slightly baggier pants to balance against your broader frame.

Ditch The Shoes
Feel instantly relaxed in sandals. When the occasion permits, this is an ideal way to give your feet a breather. For complementing the best of your casuals, invest in a pair designed for grown-ups. Save the PVC flip-flops for Sundays at the beach.
