Was It As Good For You As It Was For Her?

We spend so much time focusing on how we should pleasure our women, we occasionally forget that we – yes, us men – need to enhance our enjoyment, too. So, let’s be a little indulgent here and focus on the secrets and techniques on having great man-gasms.

Pour Yourselves A Glass Of Wine
Research published in the Journal of Sexual Medicine shows that drinking a glass or two of red wine every day can boost both male and female libido levels, and help intensify orgasms. For guys, specifically, scientists suspect that red wine’s high levels of polyphenols – a type of antioxidant – may help blood vessels widen, which can increase blood flow to the penis and key arousal areas. Before you lay down with her tonight, tell her about the orgasm-boosting benefits of this crimson beverage, and pour yourselves a glass. But limit it to one glass each; any more may be counterproductive, says the study’s author, Dr Nicola Mondaini.

Flex Your PC Muscles
Apparently, the same muscle contraction (pubococcygeal, or PC, muscle) that’s used to stop peeing midstream can also prevent blood from escaping during an erection and intensify your orgasm. “Just before you reach ejaculation, stop intercourse or stimulation, contract and hold your PC muscle tight,” says Dr Martha Lee, clinical sexologist and Men’s Health sex doctor. Repeat this a few times. And when you finally reach orgasm and full ejaculation, it will be mind-blowing. The key, however, is that this technique takes practice to perfect.

Focus On Your Pleasure
Some sex experts may recommend that you fantasise about being in a dangerous situation while having sex with your woman. “That’s not ideal,” says Dr Lee. “Don’t attempt to prolong your ejaculation by using your imagination to be somewhere else. You are effectively disconnecting with your body, losing sensation, arousal and perhaps also your erection.” Instead, focus on each pleasurable sensation – from foreplay until orgasm.

Alternate Your Thrusts
Your penis is not a drill bit, and neither will she appreciate you trying to excavate her with each penetration. So, don’t just simply thrust as hard or fast as you can while you’re inside her. “Instead, alternate with shorter thrusts, focusing on the first one-third of her vagina,” says Dr Lee. This is where the most nerve endings are, and where the both of you will feel great pleasure. What’s more, you will effectively also last longer before ejaculating.

Control Your Breathing
“Being able to regulate your breathing can greatly enhance your orgasm,” says Dr Lee. She recommends up-regulating and down-regulating. Up-regulating breathing – drag your in-breaths so that it’s longer than your out-breaths. “This can energise and excite the body, helping you to experience more arousal,” she says. Down-regulating breathing is the reverse. “This can relax your body and calm you, especially if you want to prolong your erection without reaching orgasm,” she adds.
