Is She Having An Orgasm Or Just Faking?

There are a number of other ways a man can tell if he’s leading his lady to an explosive orgasm (other than the usual gasps and moans of ecstasy). “You don’t even have to ask what she wants if you read her body the right way,” says Joan Elizabeth Lloyd, author of The Perfect Orgasm. Consider this your translation guide.

What Is She Trying To Tell You?
Women want you to mimic their moves if they find them pleasurable. This means she might “project” – meaning she touches or kisses you where she wants you to lavish attention on her.

Take note of what she does. “Some people do to their partners what they would like done  to themselves,” says Lonnie Barbach, PhD, author of For Each Other: Sharing Sexual Intimacy. For instance, if she keeps touching you gently, do the same to her.

Is She Looking At You?
According to psychologist Lorel Lindstrom, PhD, women who aren’t pleased with you – whether in the bedroom or outside – will minimise eye contact. See if you’re on track by offering her a flattering remark such as “You taste great” and observing her eyes. If she doesn’t avoid your gaze and the sex starts to heat up, you’re doing the right things.

Is She Grinding Hard?
“Watch the movements of her body, especially her pelvic area, for signs you’re arousing her,” says clinical sexologist and Men’s Health Advisory Board member Dr Martha Lee. The faster she writhes or the harder she grinds against you, the more turned on she is. Use the rhythm of these movements as an indicator of the cadence of your own thrusting.

Is She Getting Wetter?
Her body will tell you if she’s about to go through the roof. Look for increased wetness and toe curling. Rest a hand on her stomach and feel for the muscular contractions that immediately precede her orgasm. Observe if her nipples become flushed with blood, or if there’s a subtle deepening in the colour of her clitoris and labia caused by increased blood flow.

“Putting her legs up may increase this rush of blood, making her orgasm  much more intense,” says Debby Herbenick, PhD, MPH, a sex researcher and educator at Indiana University. “Take advantage of this: Have her rest her ankles on your shoulders in the missionary position, then move forward to rock against her clitoris with the base of your penis.”
