The Long And Short Of Finding Your Best Sex Position

Does size matter? Let's not kid ourselves, of course it does. But even if you're not so generously endowed down there, doesn't mean you can't pleasure your girlfriend or wife as well as the Peter Norths of the world. Regardless what God decided to gift you in the love tackle department, here's how you can find the right sex position to give your partner maximum pleasure.

If you're Well-Hung 

Erect penis length of 6.5 inches (16cm) or more

For many women, a penis this big is going to hurt. “If a penis is longer than her vaginal canal, it will hit the back wall of her vagina and give her a painful sensation,” says sex  adviser Dr Pam Spurr, author of Sensational Sex: The Revolutionary Guide To Sexual Pleasure And Fulfilment. However, a fully aroused vagina will be better able to accommodate a bigger penis. “Thus, foreplay matters, especially when a man has a big penis,” says clinical sexologist and Men’s Health advisory board member Dr Martha Lee.  “Properly stimulate her with your tongue.”

Best positions: Her on top, where she has control of how deep you go. Or position yourself on top – but from behind – with her body flat on the bed and your legs outside  hers. This prevents you from penetrating her too deeply.

Erect girth of more than 5.3 inches

The vaginal muscles are capable of relaxing at the prospect of penetration. “Rest the tip of your penis at the entrance of the vagina and wait for her body to respond,” says Dr Lee. “The vaginal muscles will open up, and you can penetrate just that little bit. Wait and repeat until she ‘receives’ the entire length of your penis.”

Best positions: “Missionary is your best bet, as she can relax her body completely,” says Spurr. “Or try it with her on top, so she can ease you in herself.”

If you're a Happy Medium

Erect penis length of 4.5 to 6.4 inches

Most of the vagina’s nerves are in the outer third, closest to the entrance – and, thankfully, you’re ideally equipped to stimulate this area.

Best positions: You can enjoy any position you like. But to really impress her, dip the nose of your penis in and out of that shallow third.

Erect girth of between 4.6 and 5.3 inches

If you’re at the lower end of this scale, you need friction. “Women don’t have a problem with ‘thin’ guys, but some men say they can’t achieve enough sensation,” says sex therapist Judy Seifer.

Best position: If her knees are together, her vagina is stretched front to back (rather than side to side when her legs are spread). This means it’s elongated and will feel tighter.

If you're a Firecracker

Erect penis length less than 4.5 inches

Men with shorter penises have options “larger” men don’t, says Seifer.

Best position: Missionary, with an added extra – the coital alignment technique. “You simply ride high, bringing the base of your penis up against her clitoris,” says Seifer.  Then, instead of thrusting, rub and grind against her pubic bone. “Since you’re not thrusting, it doesn’t matter how long or short you are.”

Erect girth of 4.5 inches or below

“Try wearing a ribbed condom,” suggests Spurr. “This will increase the sensation for  her.”

Best position: Again, try entering her from behind as she lies on her stomach. This reduces depth and increases tightness. “This position can help you feel as though you’re filling her vagina completely,” says Dr Lee.
