Light Some Candles
Call it old-fashioned but for the longest time, candles equal romance, which equals sex. Just think about how many movies or books that features candles as part of some sexy set-up. The key thing is you want to help her relax and that's how you can add some zing to this romantic classic.
Picking the right scented candles can put her in a more receptive mood for sex, says Dr Alan Hirsch, director of The Smell and Taste Treatment and Research Foundation in Chicago. The scent of roses can be an aphrodisiac for women, while the smell of ylang-ylang is spicy and arousing, adds clinical sexologist Dr Martha Lee. Tests also show that the aroma of green apples is one of the top scents for reducing stress in women.
Recreate A Hot Date
If it's been weeks since you two got busy under the sheets, one way to remind her how things used to be hot and heavy is by recreating a hot date. This makes you look like a sensitive, thoughtful guy.
It's not just about taking her to the same restaurant or replicating every single action of that night. Rather, recreate the smell that dominated that great date. “If she was sexually aroused by a scent in the past, reintroducing it will create the same arousal,” says Dr Hirsch. That’s because the same part of the brain handles scents and emotions.
Shell Out For A Lobster Dinner
Splashing for a fancy dinner at an upmarket restaurant will no doubt impress her. The effort to pamper her and the fact that you're trying to bring her somewhere classy will hopefully put you in her good books. The fact that you're picking up the tab, helps as well.
It turns out there's another reason to shell out for a lavish lobster meal. Lobsters are a great source of phosphorus, which is “important to help keep the vaginal tissues lubricated,” says Pamela Madison, director of the Women’s Sexuality Center in the US. Order a side of carrots, too – beta-carotene raises blood levels of progesterone, a hormone linked to increased desire, adds Madison.
Slip Her A Sex Pill
If all else really fails, you can turn to supplements on the market to give you that extra bedroom boost. Tell your woman about Arginmax ($62.50 for 90 tablets, www.gnc.com.sg) and maybe she’ll swallow some herself.
In a study published in the Journal of Sex and Marital Therapy, women taking this supplement reported almost twice the increase in sex drive experienced than by those taking a placebo. The secret may lie in L-arginine, one of the pill’s main ingredients. “It enhances the production of nitric oxide, which relaxes blood vessels and could improve desire,” says Cynthia Finley, RD, a nutritionist at Johns Hopkins University Bayview Medical Center.
