Yes, and your body will tell you. Dangerously low blood pressure – called hypotension – can make you feel dizzy or pass out, says Associate Professor Yeo Tiong Chen, senior consultant from the Cardiac Department in the National University Hospital of Singapore. The cause? Usually severe dehydration, says Prof Yeo. Low fluid levels can lead to low total blood volume and a drop in blood pressure. If dehydration isn’t the culprit, see your doctor immediately. Internal bleeding from an ulcer can lower blood pressure, as can a heart arrhythmia. Otherwise, don’t sweat over it.
