Q:
How can I get rid of the "talker" at the gym?

advertisement
The kind that talks and talks and just won't leave you alone to concentrate on your workout? Well, did you try, you know, telling him? You don’t have to be rude, just honest. Let the person know that you would like to talk but you have to focus on your workout. If he keeps flapping his trap, slip on headphones (the international sign for “leave me alone”) and wear weight-lifting gloves (the subconscious sign for “back off”). Sounds weird, but when the palms are covered, our primal instincts kick in to tell us that the person could be holding a weapon. If nothing else, the gloves will give you a better grip when you strangle the guy.
