Men's Health 'Lunch On Us' Roadshow (Mar 2010)

Lunch Treat

Men’s Health’s Raffles Place roadshows saw hundreds of free lunches given out.

Men’s Health held a subscription drive in the heart of the CBD on Thursday, March 18 and Friday, March 19 to reinforce its position as Singapore’s number one men’s magazine.

Organised at Chevron House from 10am to 3pm on both days, the ‘Lunch On Us’ roadshows aimed to treat readers to a healthy lunch and great giveaways when they purchased a copy of Men’s Health or subscribed to the magazine.

People who bought the magazine at the roadshow received a free $5 Soup Spoon lunch voucher and goodie bag. People who subscribed to Men’s Health enjoyed attractive perks too: those who went for a year’s subscription received one subscription gift and 10 per cent off the subscription rate, while people who signed up for two years bagged themselves two free gifts and 10 per cent off the rate.

Two hot rollerblading girls handed out flyers promoting the event to the PMEB crowd. Lending further interest to proceedings was a series of body combat and yoga demonstrations by event partner True Fitness. A snaking queue soon formed at the subscription booth, with the MH staff working overtime to address all queries.

"Response was overwhelming," said branding & promotions manager Vicky Yong, especially considering there was a heavy downpour during lunchtime on both days. The rain did not put a dampener on the roadshows, however – all the magazines (with their attendant free lunches and goodie bags) sold out, while subscription gifts such as the Molton Brown skincare sets and Targus convertible backpacks flew off the shelves within hours on the first day.
