A watch for the digital age Mirza Malik
Friday, 22nd January 2010 @ 18:20:50 PM
I roughly remember my first digital watch from the 1980s. I even wore it when I slept because there was something exhiliratingly sci-fi (read: exhiliratingly ultra-cool) about sporting a digital watch way back then. Of course, then, I was in primary school and such innovations in fashion was more than enough to get my notice. Till today, on some days, I do wear a trusty digital watch, just because I think, it's cool.
Thanks to advances in both design and technology, the digital watch has undergone all kinds of re-inventions to entrench its place in a rapidly-changing world where preferences and tastes are as rapidly changing. One of its latest looks is that of the Nooka Zon watch.
It features a dual display, with time measured by small blocks, much like an hourglass, as well as a traditional numeric display. The ability to easily reverse the contrast of the display face provides an element of customisation for each individual. As an added feature, the ZON is also a world-time watch, which allows the wearer to scroll through all 24 time zones
with the click of a button. ($899 at M-Lab, Tangs Orchard Level 3)
