If you've not tried it out, go ahead and check out Pinterest. It's probably the hottest online trend right now. What is it? It's basically a visual way to bookmark all your favourite online things, from products to infographics, as well as videos and websites.
With traditional text bookmarks, I find that sometimes, I can't remember what they link to (especially because some of them are quite old) or the description is too generic. With Pinterest, it's much easier to find what I want as the pins are more visual and are instantly recognisable. And to me, accessing information quickly really matters. That's what I've enjoyed with Pinterest. And also the fact that there are a lot of interesting content on it. I've been on Pinterest for over a year and at the start, there was a lot of food-related pins, as well as fashion and home decor stuff. Now, the range of content is so much broader, reflecting the diverse array of users on Pinterest.
You can organise your pins according to different boards. They offer some default choices but you can change those to whatever you want or create new boards to fit your needs. That will help you organise your pins according to how you would mentally categorise them! For example, on the Men's Health Pinterest account, we've categorised our pins according to Home Gym, Fitness & Sports, Running Shoes/Gear, Women We Love, IPPT Tips and so on.
When you click on each pin, it will bring you to the URL from where you pinned the item from. Try it with this example below.
Other people who follow you, or who found your board, can Like, comment or re-pin the item you've posted. Similarly, you can follow others or find pins that you want to Like, re-pin or comment on.
How it works is that you install their little pin application to your browser (after you've registered and logged in), and when you spot something you want to pin, pick the visual to represent that item and choose which board you want to pin it under. This short video demonstrates the process quite simply.
You'll get the hang of it quite quickly. It's really fun and great way to bookmark all the things you like on the web. If you're already on Pinterest, do follow our boards at the Men's Health Singapore Pinterest account.

Pintrest made me shiver with deiglht the first time I laid eyes on the site. Previously thinking I was immune to such time-sucks, I quickly found myself surfing it with the same vigor an ex-bf who won't be named used to surf porn each evening. Time stops and all that matters is the next picture. So I quickly named Pintrest girl porn. I now stop before I ever go on the site and ask myself Do I have time for this? Most of the time the answer's no' so my time on the site has been greatly diminished but not my love! My pinning love is undying. It's nice to know that more men are discovering the joys of pinning. I think we'll all be pleasantly surprised to see how much our pintrests overlap.JennyB recently posted..
