For those of you who have actually missed my blog posts these past couple of weeks, I thank you. I thank you for following my updates, for giving me the time of day in spite of the wealth of other online articles to pick and choose from, for supporting my efforts as I sought to get garang.

Hi Gavin,
Thanks for the journey and good read. You still remain an inspiration. I'll be running my 1st full marathon at SCSM'10 too. Will keep you in mind for the run. :)
All the best to your future.

Hi Gavin,
I have the same target to complete my first full marathon under 5hrs in SCSM'10. Did not manage to get into the 50 taining slots. Can share what your plan is like?
Hey Lam, yes I'll try to share my training plan in greater detail in my upcoming posts! But be mindful that it's tailored to me so you have to follow loosely. If you looking for training programmes to join, you might like to look up some of the local running clubs (like Team Fatbird). I know some have training programmes for their members, and most, if not all clubs, are free to join.
Hi Gavin,
just want to ask if you have a good way to relax between your scheduled traing? I guess you've never heard about the swedish spikemat, the acupressure mat that relieves sore and aching muscles? I use it after a hard work out or training - the mat relieves the endorphines, thanks to the 6,000 acupressure nails I lie down on. It hurts but it really works. I usually fall asleep on it. Just wanted you to know about the spikemat as everyone in Europe use it. They sell the mat in Singapore now - online www.theswedishmat.com
Good luck!

Gavin Gets Garang: In Gold Coast, Australia Part 6 Gavin Tan

In my previous posts on my Gold Coast adventure, I recounted how a stretch limo ride on Day 1 became my version of a Hot Tub Time Machine back to the Eighties, except it was the wrong part; the cheesy part.

Come tomorrow night, I'll be flying off to Brisbane, Australia to take part in the Gold Coast Airport Marathon on Sunday. I'll be running in the Asics Half-Marathon category in this great race as part of my preparations for my first full marathon at the end of the year.
