As a diehard Manchester United fan, I'd never looked forward more to a Manchester City game than the tie between United's bitter derby rivals and Chelsea ton Saturday. In fact, I was even rooting for City, not so much because an unlikely City win over Chelsea would mean United would close the gap between themselves and current BPL leaders to just one point, but more for the fact that this was the first match that would see CIty's Wayne Bridge face Chelsea's John Terry in Premiership action.

Gavin Gets Garang: Day 66 Gavin Tan
Monday, 22nd February 2010 @ 16:28:09 PM
In the 11 days since my previous post, I've more or less kept to my workout schedule. There's been a couple of runs according to the running workout schedule I've set on the adidas mi coach Pacer that I'm still roadtesting, the usual weights workouts and futstal sessions, as well as my first training session for my trip in a few weeks to scale Mount Kinabalu.

Gavin Gets Garang: Day 55 Gavin Tan
Thursday, 11th February 2010 @ 11:03:41 AM
It's been more than a week since I ran the Urbanathlon and published my last blog post. What's happened to my Garang plans since then? Not much to be honest — and that's what I want to talk to other fitness beginners about (as well as those trying to get back in shape). There's a trap a lot of us will fall into when starting to work out, and that's making the mistake of rewarding ourselves too much.

Is the 20% offer for mi adidas for Urbanathon only valid on race day itself. MH shld talk to sponsors to offer something serious. Who is in the mood to make shoes after the race? Even the discount offer from adidas for Urbanathon ends at 6/Dec. Huh? that's like almost 2 months before the race?
No, participants who set up an appointment to make a pair of mi adidas get 20% discount on that day. It doesn't mean that you had to customise your shoes on that day. And I think the discount offer ending 6 Dec you're referring to isn't an Urbanathlon-specific discount but one that was applicable for the marathon season ending last year.

No Gavin, the discount offer was on Urban website until yesterday. The promotion states we have to produce Urban reg. slips to get discount on all Adidas running gear. Unfortunately it expire on 6/Dec when most ppl. have not even register yet. anyway, it's over. Just a feedback for the sponsors

On Saturday, the third and final instalment of the Urbanathlon Bootcamp with Polar took place at West Coast Park. For those who've been faithfully attending this Bootcamp series, this session was meant to be as close to a dry run as possible, except without the full distance.

Gavin Gets Garang: Day 32 Gavin Tan
Monday, 18th January 2010 @ 16:42:31 PM
Last week was a good week, training progress-wise. First, I managed to stick to my diet plans pretty much the entire week — I finally mustered the strength to wake up earlier in the morning to have breakfast, packed a small lunchbox to munch on between lunch and dinner, and ate controlled, balanced meals the rest of the time (save a couple of unrestricted ones). Here's a sample menu of my meals:
