Q:
Will servicing my car at smaller workshops be cheaper than at a dealer?

advertisement

Generally, small workshops charge less than authorised dealers for servicing the same car. That’s because they have lower overheads and simpler set-ups. The flip side of this cheaper option is that the mechanics tend to be less systematic in comparison with those at the official dealers, where after sales support goes by the book. This difference in “service” is probably minor if you’re just looking for an ordinary oil change, but it could be significant for bigger jobs like engine troubleshooting.
