What’s the best way to get rid of a stitch without stopping?

You might not need to stop, but you definitely need to slow down first. Stitches are caused by trapped air below our diaphragm (caused by food or an insufficient warm-up). As such, try breathing with your belly by purposely expanding your stomach as you breathe. Head back to slow, deep and even breathing.
