Prostate cancer runs in my family. What should I do?

Get to love your greens. A study in the Journal of the National Cancer Institute showed that men who ate three or more servings of cruciferous vegetables a day had a 41 per cent lower risk of developing prostate cancer than those who ate one serving a day or less. This green firepower comes from glucosinolates, a compound that activates enzymes that can neutralise cancer-causing agents in our bodies, says study author Alan Kristal, a researcher at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center in the US. (See the below list of vegetables that should make up your dietary defence.) Still, as with any cancer, your best weapon is early detection.
