Q:
Nutritionally, is white bread really that bad?

advertisement

White bread is a highly refined product made from grains that have been stripped of their bran and germ layers (covering each grain seed). This results in the loss of fibre and nutrients. Because of this lack of fibre, white bread gets digested much faster, resulting in greater fluctuations in your blood glucose and insulin levels, which may lead to a higher risk of obesity, heart disease or diabetes.
