Q:
My knees hurt when I train. What can I do?

Knee pain can be an unpredictable condition that also affects people with strong and stable knee joints. The pain may sometimes be persistent, while other times, it can come and go. In fact, I have this frustrating knee pain myself, which is aggravated when I climb the stairs or walk on a slope.

A possible cause is the formation of scar tissue on the ligaments of your knees, which may be caused by an injury. One way to manage the pain is through a form of massage known as soft-tissue therapy, which involves applying pressure to the affected area of your knees. After that, you can start to do leg exercises, so that your knees move in a full range of motion and do not allow this scar tissue to form again. Healthcare professionals who typically provide soft-tissue therapy include chiropractors, massage therapists, and some osteopathic and naturopathic doctors.
