Q:
I wake up easily at night. Can sleeping pills help?

Sleeping pills are not a cure for sleep-related problems. At best, such meds can help tide you over a short period of sleeping difficulties. Moreover, they are addictive; regular use is best avoided. The best way is to try and identify the cause that results in the interruptions. Study your sleep patterns for a few days and approach your doctor, who can help you identify the cause. If necessary, he will refer you to a sleep clinic, where an in-depth analysis of your sleep pattern will help you find the best solution.
