Q:
I bought a bridal package, but the studio closed down without warning. Can I get my money back?

Probably not. In such an instance, you assume the position of an “unsecured creditor” of the business – meaning you’re at the bottom of the credit food chain. You’ll likely only see a percentage of your money at best – or nothing at all. You may not even be able to take legal action because when a company has gone into liquidation, legal suits cannot be taken against it. This is a situation where prevention is indeed better than cure: Ask around for a reputable studio with a good record, to avoid having your special day remembered for all the wrong reasons.
