How do I not get bumped off an overbooked flight?

The best way to protect yourself is to buy early and to travel during off-peak periods. Airlines bump passengers off when a flight is overbooked. So planning and confirming your trips earlier will eliminate such chances. At the end of the day, the airlines or travel suppliers are running a business. So, those flights with especially low yields are usually the first to go, compared to those whose passengers book early or pay for full Economy or Business Class fares.
