Q:
How do I know if I have bad breath? Can I get rid of it?

Unfortunately, it’s usually the people around you who catch a sniff of it first. Next time, lick the back of your hand, let it dry for a few seconds, then smell the area. If there’s a strong smell, bad breath usually exists. No use blowing into cupped hands and trying to smell your breath. Poor oral hygiene and dental problems are some of the known causes of bad breath. Certain bacteria and food are also culprits. See a dentist about possible dental problems and correcting oral hygiene issues. Also ensure adequate hydration by drinking more water.
