Q:
How can I stop my morning sinuses?

Identify the possible triggers and eliminate them from your home and work environment. Do take note of the time pattern of the symptoms – whether they are present the whole day or only at specific times of the day. Measures to keep your surroundings clean and regular washing of bed sheets with hot water will help to reduce the irritants.

If there is no improvement despite these measures, it is advisable to get a thorough physical examination. This will be useful to detect conditions such as nasal polyps. Allergy tests may also be conducted. Treatments recommended include use of nasal corticosteroid sprays, antihistamines, decongestants and oral allergy shots.
