Q:
Does the size of the Swiss ball I use for crunches matter?

advertisement

Yes, it matters. A simple rule for choosing a Swiss Ball: When you sit on the ball, your upper and lower legs should form a 90-degree angle. The 55cm ball is good for people under 175cm and the 65cm ball is best for those over 176cm. If the ball is too small, you might have a tendency to lean forward while lifting weights and your core will not activate. If the ball is too large, your hips will be out of position during most lifts and you won’t get the full benefit.
